How Will the EPCSA Donation Impact Lwandlenene Care Centre?

A vibrant brass band and spirited drum majorettes marched through Section E in Giyani, accompanying the esteemed leaders of EPCSA to Lwandlenene Care Centre. Among the esteemed guests were Rt Rev GS Moyane, the EPCSA Moderator; Rev RN Khoza, the Deputy Moderator; Rev TDY Sombhane, the General Secretary; Rev SK Maphophe, the Deputy General Secretary and the newly appointed General Treasurer.

Representing the Greater Giyani Municipal were Cllr Christina Zitha (Acting Mayor), Cllr Respect Maluleke, and Mr Mac Trevor Makhubele (Disable Desk), representing the government. Mr. BW Mzamani, representing Social Development and heading the Disable Desk, was also present. Their purpose was to fulfill their social responsibility by donating an amount of R50,000 to the Centre.

In his address, the Moderator of the church, Rt Rev GS Moyane, emphasized that as a church, they diligently follow the mission and vision mandated by their constitution to make the Kingdom of God a reality. He acknowledged the challenges posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic but expressed gratitude to the faithful congregants who continue to tithe to the church. He concluded his speech by urging the Giyani Presbytery to support the Centre by constructing a hall.

The Moderator’s speech culminated in the presentation of the cheque to the Centre by the EPCSA General Treasurer, Rev R Kubayi. Expressing her appreciation, Acting Mayor Cllr Zitha, acknowledged that this was not the first time she had heard about the church and commended its act of donating money, highlighting that many churches collect funds even from those less privileged. She pledged her assistance to the Giyani Presbytery in their efforts to construct the aforementioned hall.

Accepting the challenge, the Presbytery Chairperson appealed to the Acting Mayor to facilitate the acquisition of a plot of land from the municipality, enabling the Centre to construct their own facility instead of paying rent. He further urged all Presbyterians to support him and his team in making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, the representatives of Lwandlenene Care Centre expressed their heartfelt thanks to the church for their support and thoughtfulness. They also requested the church’s assistance in raising awareness about dimension disorder within the community, as the elderly sometimes face accusations of witchcraft due to this condition.

The air resonated with the harmonious voices of the recorded trio, Voices of Victrix, and the enchanting melodies of the brass band.

May God bless the EPCSA and its people abundantly!
