Lowveld Presbytery
The EPCSA Lowveld Presbytery is located entirely in the Ehlanzeni District along the eastern edge of Mpumalanga Province, bordering the world-famous Kruger National Park.It was formally established as Selati Presbytery in the years between 1964-1967, comprising of four Parishes, namely Masana, Mpisana, Nelspruit and Malamule.
In 1972 it was renamed Eastern Transvaal Presbytery until 1987 when it was changed to its current name, Lowveld Presbytery. From the initial four parishes, the presbytery has since grown through expansion and fragmentation as follows: In 1989, Masana gave birth to Rixile Parish. Mpisane Parish led to the formation of Manyeleti in 1987 and Wisani Parishes (founded in 2001). In 2014, Mbombela Parish was formed from Nelspruit Parish. Lowveld Presbytery has acquired a site for Lowveld Presbytery Church Conference Centre, near Islington in Manyeleti Parish. It is envisaged that once developed the site will be used to host major Presbytery events. Its size is 4 hectares. It has the potential to be used for other beneficial projects.
